What is SP.E.E.C. GREEK?

SP.E.E.C. GREEK is a specialized program that offers a distinctive sporting and cultural experience to international students of Greek descent. The camp is situated in Greece and is organized by the SP.E.E.C. GREEK team in collaboration with The Ranch Camp and Afea Travel. The program's primary objective is to provide participants with the chance to enhance their athletic abilities, acquaint themselves with Greece's cultural heritage and history, and enjoy themselves in a secure and well-supervised environment. This is achieved through a diverse array of sports, educational, cultural, and entertainment activities.

Where is SP.E.E.C. GREEK?

SP.E.E.C. GREEK is run in the premises of "The Ranch", located in the natural valley of the beautiful pine forest in Sofiko Corinth, 97 kilometers from Athens, at the 26th kilometer of the highway Canal Epidaurus.

What ages can be accepted in the program?

Students from 5th to 12th grade

How long does the program last?

The program is 15 days long.

What should the campers bring along?

  • Passport
  • Suitcase
  • Any medication needed
  • Pocket money in euros
  • Face and Bath towels
  • Plenty of underwear
  • Socks
  • Pajamas
  • T-Shirts and shorts
  • Sportswear
  • Long pants and jacket
  • Sport shoes
  • Bathing Suite & a towel for the pool.

Can the children bring cell phones or electronic games or other valuables?

This is at the discretion of every parent. SP.E.E.C. GREEK takes no responsibility for the loss or damage of such devices.

How can the parents get in touch with the campers?

Communication between parents and children is permitted anytime but it is more encouraged between 15.00 – 17.00 local time. All campers must ensure their own means of communication (ie. cell phone). The camp provides free wifi access for all campers and calling cards can be purchased at The Ranch Bank.

Do I need extra money?

Campers should bring extra pocket money in euros if they wish to spend on souvenirs, snacks or any other items during the day trips. They will be able to withdraw money from ATM only during the day trips. Please bare in mind that campers won’t be able to exchange dollars to euros or use traveler’s checks.

What about health and safety?

  • SP.E.E.C. GREEK guarantees the smooth operation of an unforgettable summer program with the support of our partners.
  • Nea Genia Ziridis provides full liability insurance, which covers injuries, accidents, and kidnapping and ransom for all its' participants.
  • Complete fire-fighting system approved yearly by Korinthos’ Fire Service Department & Security Staff
  • Well equipped infirmary
  • Required operating licenses and certifications: swimming pools (municipality of Loutraki – Perachora),  sports facilities (Sports General Secretariat), cafeteria, forestry, disposal of sewage, Fire service
  • 5 km from Korinthos General Hospital  and 5km from Loutraki Health Centre
  • 24/7 safekeeping of campus by private security company
  • Full liability insurance for all participants
  • Fully equipped infirmary with a nurse or doctor on duty 24 hours a day.
  • The hospital in Corinth is 20 minutes away, and Athens is one hour and ten minutes away.
  • The Ranch operates under ISO obligations and specifications: H.A.C.C.P.  System, ISO 9001:2008 και ISO 14001:2004 

Credibility

The program is accredited by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – General Secretariat for Greeks Abroad.

Environmental Awareness

At The Ranch, we consider it our obligation to contribute to environmental sustainability by applying:
• biological waste management
• waste storage refrigerators,
• the reuse of water for irrigation,
• stringent safety and health standards in all facilities and accommodation areas
•  use of recycled or recyclable materials
•  ecologically built and sustainable accommodation and sports facilities
